Frequently Asked Questions
This is usually the handful of questions we get about the museum organization and our aircraft! Take a look here before reaching out.
1
What about the CH-46 Sea Knights in the background of most photos?
All 6 of the CH-46E Sea Knights located at Ellington Field (KEFD) are owned and operated by another museum organization Vietnam War Flight Museum works with closely and has a great relationship with. The helicopters are owned by National United States Armed Forces Museum (NUSAFM) which is also located in Houston with two separate locations to house their exceptional collection of armored vehicles and helicopters. You can find more information about them here: http://www.nusafm.org/

What is the relationship with Collings Foundation?
Vietnam War Flight Museum and Collings Foundation are working closely for the preservation of the aircraft collections of both organizations located at Ellington Field. This is made possible due to the close relationship the founder of VWFMs Rick Sharpe has with Collings Foundation.

What are your hours and are you open to the public?
Technically, the museum is open publicly however we do not have set hours. We are working on this and restoring the building to be more accepting to tours and the public. However, reach out to the email if you are interested in visiting, as we often have volunteers at the hangar and can provide private tours!

How can I best help keep these airplanes flying?
The best way to help us at this stage with the museum is financially, and any donation counts! The entire organization from top to bottom is volunteer only, and things as simple as toilet paper and cleaning supplies are being paid for out of our pockets! Here is the link to our Paypal: Link
